Description

लोबान या लोहबान एक प्रकार का गोंद है जिसे लोहबान वृक्ष से प्राप्त किया जाता है। इसका वृक्ष मध्यमाकर का होता है जो की थायलैंड, सुमात्रा, जावा, मलेशिया आदि देशों में होता है। पूजा-पाठ आदि में लोहबान का प्रयोग किया जाता है। गुगुल और लोहबान की धूमन भारतीय घरों में सबसे ज्यादा प्रयोग किए जाते हैं। इसके कई औषधीय लाभ भी हैं।

प्रयोग:

• लोहबान का उपयोग त्वचा संबन्धित रोग में भी किया जाता है। इसके लेप को त्वचा पर लगाया जाता है।
• लोहबान की धूप का प्रयोग पुरानी खाँसी, अस्थमा, जुकाम तथा टीबी की बीमारी में भी किया जाता है।
• ज्यादा उल्टी होने पर लोहबान को जलाकर मिट्टी के बर्तन में पानी गर्म करके पीने से उल्टी रूक जाती है।
• लोहबान की पेस्ट बनाकर इसे में एक बत्ती में लपेट कर योनि में रखने से प्रसव के बाद गर्भाशय से होने वाले रक्तस्राव को ठीक करने में मदद मिलती है।
• लोहबान को पीसकर गठिया वाले स्थान पर लेप करने से लाभ मिलता है।
• लोहबान को पीसकर तिल या सरसों तेल में मिला लें और इसे धीमी आँच पर पका लें और इसे छानकर दर्द वाले स्थान पर मालिश करने से लाभ मिलता है।
• लोहबान की सुगंध लेने से दिमाग शांत होता है।

Uses:

• Myrrh is also used in skin diseases. Its paste is applied on the skin.
• Incense of myrrh is also used in chronic cough, asthma, cold and tuberculosis.
• In case of excessive vomiting, after burning myrrh and drinking hot water in an earthen pot, vomiting stops.
• Make a paste of myrrh and wrap it in a candle and keep it in the vagina, it helps in curing uterine bleeding after delivery.
• Grinding myrrh and applying it on the affected area provides benefit.
• Grind myrrh and mix it in sesame or mustard oil and cook it on low flame and filter it and massage it on the painful area, it is beneficial.
• Taking the aroma of myrrh calms the mind.
